In July, the Gallery at Jessie Creek will be featuring “Marks in Pastel” by local painter Bill Parker.
A Statement From Bill:
“I like to think of myself as a creative problem solver first and a painter second. I have a BFA from Virginia Commonwealth University in Communication, Arts and Design I am truly a visual thinker. I spent the better part of my adult life in the world of advertising creating campaigns and crafting messages and visuals.
When I paint, there is a real self satisfaction, I am creating something I was meant to create. I am free to explore any subject I choose. I am motivated by the unusual things, the things we may take for granted or things that need to have representation. These quiet treasures become my inspiration.
I also enjoy plein air painting. It allows me to be in the moment and capture the spirit of the day. I get engrossed in my work and become detached from my daily routines. I enjoy being emerged in the process. The hardest part is walking away from the painting and saying its finished.”
As always we look forward to seeing you to enjoy:
