Celebrate Valentine’s Day Weekend on the Wine and Chocolate Trail!

Wine, chocolate and love come together in the Garden State February 14-16, 2025! The Garden State Wine Growers Association is throwing its annual Wine and Chocolate Trail Weekend, and wineries across the state are rolling out the red, white and chocolate carpet with special events, tastings, pairings and more.

While there are no hard and fast rules when it comes to wine and chocolate pairings, you’re going to want to keep elements like sweetness levels, acidity, texture and additional ingredients in mind—both for the wine and the chocolate.

This is why we prefer to let the pros guide our wine and chocolate pairings, because who wants to think about residual sugar and acid levels when we can let the pros serve the perfect balance to us?

Check out our events page for all the info on the  Wine and Chocolate events. Here’s a taste of what you’ll find on the trail all weekend long:

Stokelan Estate’s Wine & Chocolate Pairing Experience: Stokelan has teamed up with Reily’s Candy in Medford for a memorable wine-tasting experience. $30 booked ahead will snag a five-wine and five-chocolate pairing flight. The full wine and cafe menu is available as well. Walk-ins are welcome, at $35 a pop.

Old York Cellars’ Guided Wine & Chocolate Experience: Old York Cellars is pulling out all the stops for Valentine’s Day weekend. Guests can enjoy a flight of wines paired with artisan chocolate selections from the Fudge Shoppe for $25; the winery is also creating special sparkling wine and tapas pairings with cheese and dessert for $150 a couple in private cabanas with couches, tables, and a fire-pit. Old York Cellars is also offering a five-course dinner in the Vista Room with views of the vineyard and Sourland Mountains for $99 a person.

Bellview Winery’s Wine and Chocolate event stretches across two weekends. The party kicks off on February 8. For the full weekend and the next from 12 pm-5 pm, there will be special chocolate flights, special wine cocktails, red wine hot chocolate, live music, a food truck and more. There will also be live music in the veranda. $15

Working Dog Winery’s Wine & Chocolate Trail Weekend will be celebrated February 14-16. The experience will include New Jersey wines paired with chocolates supplied by local chocolatiers, live music, and more.

White Horse Winery’s Wine & Chocolate Tasting Weekend includes four wines and chocolates selected by chocolate sommelier Estelle Tracy. Additional wine and chocolate will be available for purchase. $42.

Wine, Chocolate, and Romance Books Are on the menu at Brook Hollow Winery: On February 15-16 from 12-5 pm, Brook Hollow is creating a delicious and educational Valentine’s Day weekend with live music, and a broad range of romance authors (including Roz Lee, Sharon Buchbinder, Roni Denholts, and Linda Parisi). There will—of course!—be incredible wine and chocolates to choose from.

Terhune Orchards Vineyard and Winery is getting in on the Valentine’s Day fun with sweet treats and live music. The winery’s bakery will be making a range of chocolates that will pair well with Terhune wines, as well as offering chocolates from local makers like Pierre’s Chocolates. The fun will happen inside the winery and at fire pits, with live music from 1pm to 4 pm.

William Heritage Winery is throwing a Wine & Chocolate event throughout the entire month of February. Both the Mullica Hill and Haddonfield Tasting Rooms will be serving up a dry wine and a sweet wine pairing. For the dry pairing, Merlot will be paired with Double Dark Ganache, Syrah with Rosemary Sea Salt Caramel, Chambourcin with Raspberry Ganache, and Pinot Noir with Cherry Heart. For the sweet pairing, Jersey Peach will be paired with Peach Bourbon Truffle, Jersey Blue with Blueberry Cheesecake Truffle, Jersey Red Velvet with Double Dark Ganache, and the 2024 Governor’s Cup winning Ice Cider with Apple Cider Caramel. All the chocolates will come from Mecha Chocolate in Haddonfield.
