Villa Milagro Vineyards in Phillipsburg is first and foremost a farm and vineyard with a focus on grape and wine production. (It also happens to employ organic and sustainable practices to enhance the soil, prevent erosion, protect the environment, and create a balanced ecology, which advocates say benefits the health and taste of the grapes, and the community around the winery).
Its purpose isn’t to be an entertainment venue, but that doesn’t mean visitors don’t find fun and some entertainment when they visit to enjoy wine and food on the estate situated on the Delaware River, with a stunning panoramic view of four counties in two states.
Like most other wineries across the state, 2025 was an extraordinary year for Villa Milagro in the vineyard. Fruit was plentiful, plump, flavorful, and without damage from mildew, birds, or other pests. The pressed juices offered exceptional flavor profiles that promise outstanding wines in 2028 and beyond. While waiting for those wines, there is still plenty of upcoming fun to be had in 2026!
- February: Warm up with “Sip’n’Soup” with a different soup each weekend. The winery will also release two wines that month: 2024 Oro Blanco, a Sauvignon Blanc, and Besame, a chocolate-infused Port-style dessert wine.
- March: Local artisan cheese makers will offer samples of their cow, goat, and sheep milk cheeses to pair with wine.
Also, each Saturday in March, Villa Milagro hosts a wine tasting basics class with a unique approach to learning about food and wine flavor recognition led by winemaker, Dr. Audrey Cross, who has advanced degrees in food, nutrition, and wine. The course demystifies wine, leading to increased knowledge and pleasure. - April: The focus will be on various “little stuffed bites” – empanadas, pierogies, and ravioli from local chefs are paired with our wines.
- May: The seasonal start of the Warren County Winery Train, an excursion by steam engine along the banks of the beautiful Delaware River, ending with an educational tour of the vineyard, an explanation of how wine is made, and a wine tasting paired with hot appetizers.
