Spotlight On: Feasting Wines

Get the party started with Beneduce Vineyard’s 2024 Chambrusco. It’s fizzy, it’s fun, it tastes like tart blackberries and savory herbs. Also perfect with NJ’s unofficial state foods, pizza + salumi.

Working Dog Winery’s NJ Chardonnay is bursting with starfruit, white peaches, saline, citrus, making it a pinch hit for anything involving cheese or fish, roasted or raw; this Chardonnay also plays well with roasted turkey.

Go big or go home! Unionville Vineyards produces The Big O in only the best years, and all of the waiting is well worth your while. The 2022 red blend (Cabernet Franc, Cabernet Sauvignon, and Petit Verdot) was aged for 21 months in neutral French oak. It’s candied cherries, raspberries, cranberries, and baking spices. Big, bold, complex. Ideal for pairing with roasted or smoked red meats.

It’s time for the sweet course! You can’t go wrong with William Heritage’s Fortified Red, with notes of dark red and black fruits, and mocha. Pair with all the chocolate + cookies, or a funky cheese course.

Now go out there and grab these beauties so you can bring them to your feast. Mangia!
