“FRESH” IS THE KEY WORD FOR 26 WINERIES OFFERING THEIR NEW WINES AT JERSEY FRESH FOOD & WINE FESTIVAL AUG. 14 & 15
The Jersey Fresh Food & Wine Festival, featuring hundreds of award-winning New Jersey wines and great regional bands will be held Saturday and Sunday, Aug. 14 and 15, from noon to 5 p.m. at Heritage Vineyards in Mullica Hill, New Jersey.

More than 26 New Jersey wineries will showcase their wines at the event, sponsored by the Garden State Wine Growers Association. The festival will be held at Heritage Vineyards, a picturesque winery nicely tucked among rambling fruit orchards in the heart of New Jersey’s farmland in Gloucester County.

The festival also features live entertainment Saturday and Sunday. Saturday, the feature attraction is Eryn Shewell. This young and talented singer-songwriter has performed in venues such as the legendary Stone Pony, The Saint, The Cutting Room, Bluebird Café, Café Coco as well as popular clubs throughout New Jersey, New York City, New Orleans and Nashville. Born in Washington, DC, Eryn moved to New Jersey at an early age.  She has been singing publically since she was ten, wrote her first song at fourteen and hasn't stopped writing since. Eryn began performing her own music in 2007, and now tours and performs locally, showcasing her original compositions with a few of her favorite cover songs thrown in for fun.

Sunday, the feature band will be Swampadelica. This unique group blends and bends lead vocalist's Nadïne LaFond's native language, Haïtian Kreyol, with English and then mixes it with electric guitar and a modified and mutated American jazz & rock staple, the Hammond B3. Swampadelica represents a sort of musical reverse migration. It starts with the current sounds of rock and hip-hop, then travels to our Gulf states with funk and early American blues. From there it moves to the Caribbean with Haïtian Kreyol and the rhythms of reggae and ska. It ends up back in Africa via Nadïne's African vocal styles and the use of instrumentation such as the hindehoo and kalimba.

With the entertainment comes the wine. Wineries throughout the state from as far north as Sussex County and as far south as Cape May will be offering an opportunity to sample more than 250 wines they have produced. They include Alba Vineyard of Milford, Amalthea Cellars of Atco, Auburn Road Vineyards of Pilesgrove, Bellview Winery of Landisville, Cape May Winery & Vineyard of Cape May, Cedarvale Winery of Logan Township, Chestnut Run Farm of Pilesgrove, Coda Rossa of Franklinville, Cream Ridge Winery of Cream Ridge, DiBella Winery LLC of Woolwich Township, DiMatteo Vineyards of Hammonton, Four Sisters Winery at Matarazzo Farms of Belvidere, Hawk Haven Vineyards LLC of Rio Grande, Heritage Vineyards of Mullica Hill, Hopewell Valley Vineyards of Pennington, Natali Vineyards LLC of Cape may Court House, Plagido's Winery of Hammonton, Renault Winery of Egg Harbor, Silver Decoy of Robbinsville, Sharrott Estate Winery of Blue Anchor, Swansea Vineyards of Shiloh, Sylvin Farms of Germania, Tomasello Winery of Hammonton, Unionville Vineyards of Ringoes, Valenzano Winery of Shamong and Wagonhouse Winery of Mullica Hill.
