HAMILTON, NJ--The Garden State Wine Growers Association today announced that seventeen of its member New Jersey wineries took 86 medals this week at the International Finger Lakes Wine Competition, including a double gold medal by Heritage Vineyards in Mullica Hill for its 2009 Merlot and a double gold by Renault Winery in Egg Harbor for its 2008 Cynthiana, both scoring highest of any Merlot or Cynthiana in the contest.
The Finger Lakes competition is judged by 60 national and international judges representing sommeliers, educators, enologists, winemakers, writers, importers, retailers and industry consultants throughout the world. Sixteen of the Garden State Wine Growers Association’s 35 members participated in the event.
